The Kansas City Bier Company is seeking a Sales Manager for the state of Kansas.

Since opening in February 2014, The Kansas City Bier Company has become the largest locally owned brewery in Kansas City, We continue to see double digit growth and have been listed in Ingram’s Magazine’s Top 100 fastest growing companies in Kansas City.  Our mission is to brew authentic tasting German-style bier and deliver it with the same character, flavor, and freshness as bier brewed and consumed in Germany.  Our brands have been highly rated by Beer Connoisseur and Craft Beer & Brewing Magazines.

 

Job Overview:

The Sales Manager will oversee Kansas distributors and engage in direct selling to On and Off-premise retail accounts

 

General Responsibilities:

  • Build relationships with distributors and retail customers
  • Educate distributors and retail customers about our brands and the special attributes that will drive retail sales
  • Participate in developing marketing strategies for our brands
  • Execute selling and marketing programs in On and Off premise accounts, through our distributors and hold them accountable for store level execution and overall performance
  • Analyze sales and market data, especially through VIP, to evaluate the performance of our distributors and to identify opportunities for our brands
  • Conduct distributor sales team meetings to present business updates and brand programming

     

    Skills and Competencies:

  • Must be passionate about selling, building brands, and developing strategies to compete in the different markets and accounts, throughout the state
  • Must be an enthusiastic disciple for the KC Bier Company brand and German-style bier with our wholesaler network and retail accounts
  • Thorough understanding of the roles that suppliers, distributors, and retailers play in the 3-tier system
  • Follow all applicable laws governing the sale of alcohol

 

Work Schedule:

  • Must be able to travel, including overnight
  • Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for samplings, festivals etc.

     

    Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or will consider related industry experience
  • Minimum 2 years sales experience (beer sales preferred)
  • Experience calling on store level decision makers in the grocery, liquor and/or On Premise channels
  • Cicerone Certification – Level 1 (within 6 months of hire date)
  • Successfully complete internal beer and brand training
  • Valid Driver’s License
