Draft Packaging Lead 

The quality of draft beer is a critical piece of Wormtown Brewery’s future growth and success. Currently, a majority of Wormtown’s volume is draft beer. As Wormtown continues to expand its distribution, quality draft beer will lead the way in these markets. Careful attention to our fleet of cooperage is paramount. As Wormtown expands its footprint at its current location, a Comac keg plant has improved the consistency, efficiency and quality of our beer. 

Roles and Responsibilities
• The Draft Beer Coordinator will report directly to the Packaging Manager
• The Draft Beer Coordinator will be responsible and accountable for the draft component at Wormtown Brewery:
o Effectively communicate with Packaging Manager weekly, monthly, and long term needs for cooperage. 
o Maintain a sufficient inventory of keg spears, including new and rebuilt. 
o Maintain sufficient inventory of Keg Spear rebuild parts
o Organize and clearly identify all keg spears by Manufacturer, Size, and type. 
o Conduct and record daily titration of Comac keg plant chemical reservoirs 
o Report weekly maintenance requirements to Packaging Manager and Facility Technician for Comac Keg Plant 
o Maintain a sufficient inventory of spare parts for the Comac Keg Plant
o Maintain the process for non Wormtown cooperage and facilitate the return of the cooperage to the proper distributor
o Maintain damaged cooperage inventory
o Isolate and clearly identify kegs in need of repair
o Use KegID software to create pallet tags and track Wormtown’s fleet of kegs
• Coordinate with multiple decision points for assurance of quality and efficient draft operations
o Brewmaster, QA Manager, Packaging Manager, Lead Brewer, Logistics Coordinator, Sales, and Taproom Manager
• Show Leadership and decision-making skills to ensure a highly functional Team and efficient draft operations 
• Perform necessary testing and checking processes, such as CO2 checks with Zahm and Nagel and CBox CO2/O2 meter to ensure quality
• Collect and record ullage for calculating tax returns
• Record and invoice for contract keg cleaning

• Be a team player and help out with canning and bottling operations, as needed.
• Participate with team facility maintenance
• Attention to detail
• Ability to work 8-10 hour shifts
• Knowledge of brewing and beer packaging methods and techniques
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Competence with all safety regulations
• Must be able to lift 50# and move 150# regularly
• Minimum 1-year experience in the beer industry, but willing to train the right candidate
• A genuine interest in craft beer

• Paid vacation, after 1 year of employment

• Will provide high pressure boiler certification training
• Ability to attend industry events that benefit continued education in packaging
