The Logistics Manager leads by managing, directing and executing all warehouse functions in a multi-functional organization. The ideal candidate will ensure a drive for excellence throughout our warehouse operation by displaying a strong work ethic, leadership by example, and an emphasis on excellent customer service.



  • Management of Warehouse and Logistics operations; achieving productivity and profitability objectives established by Mass. Bay Brewing Company (MBBC)
  • Establishing operational procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of materials, and keeping warehouse inventory current
  • Recruiting, training and mentoring MBBC personnel
  • Ensuring daily tasks are completed according to established SOPs
  • Creating objectives on a trimester basis, coaching for successful execution, and evaluating/providing feedback on performance
  • Inventory management: forecasting, ordering, daily count, monthly close
  • Special projects as appropriate
  • Close coordination and daily interaction with HDC Sales and Operations team
  • On-going collaboration with MBBC senior managers across all functional areas (Production, IT, Finance, HR, Sales)



Confidence, independent action, initiative, a sense of urgency, and the ability to make decisions and take responsibility for said decisions. A well-suited candidate can react and adjust quickly to changing conditions and come up with practical and productive methods for dealing with said changing conditions. The management style is purposeful and directed toward getting things done in a timely fashion. There is a great deal of challenges and pressure, and people and issues must be handled with confidence and determination. This position requires a self-disciplined individual who can handle details given they are only an intermittent aspect of the job, and not the primary responsibility. This position also requires self-assurance and competitive drive. There is a strong demand for high quality, organized and repeatable results. The responsibilities are broad in scope, encompassing a wide variety of activities requiring rapid shifts in priorities. This is primarily a task-focused job, requiring a somewhat authoritative, directive leadership style that encourages results-driven, task-oriented collaboration.



  • General knowledge of logistics and distribution/wholesale operational activities
  • Ability to prepare and maintain detailed, accurate records
  • Ability to plan and supervise the work of others
  • Very strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Established competency with:
    • ERP systems: Order entry, DSD, A/R, Forecasting and Inventory Modules
    • Excel and other reporting tools
    • Cost control systems
    • Budgets
  • A “roll-up your sleeves and dig in” attitude
  • Genuine enthusiasm for craft beer



  • Bachelor's Degree in Business/Supply Chain Management preferred and/or relevant work experience
  • Minimum 3 years of Operations Management a plus
  • 5-7 years experience in an operating environment, preferably DSD distribution and logistics
  • 3-5 years of progressive leadership or supervisory experience required
  • Experience in an MRP system a plus
  • Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
