Northern Brewer is seeking talented and motivated individuals to join the team as Homebrewing Retail Associates in our Saint Paul, Saint Louis Park, and Minneapolis stores! Full-time (benefited) and Part-time openings available.

RETAIL STORE ASSOCIATE

Position Description

The Retail Store Associate will support all customers throughout their visit to the store. Assist with homebrew questions, troubleshoot issues, provide recommendations on product and materials. Specific duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Give prompt attention to customers.
  • Process and ring up customer purchases, returns, and exchanges.
  • Respond to customer concerns and answer technical brewing questions via, phone, email, and in person.
  • Provide support to other retail associates during peak periods or when scheduling conflicts arise, including at alternate store locations.
  • Prepare items for stocking, receive inventory transfers, and maintain inventory counts.
  • Be alert to potentially systematic problems that require immediate action and bring them to the attention of the Retail Manager.
  • Assist with store marketing and promotional events.
  • Maintain an orderly, clean, and safe work environment (sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, keep isles clear, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned

Education Requirements

A high school diploma or GED certification is preferred. Associates/Bachelor’s degree, and BJCP or Cicerone certification strongly preferred.

Required Experience

Three to six months of related experience or training and experience brewing beer or making wine. Experience working with and knowledge of basic formulas and standard measurements. Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
