Job Overview:

Alewerks Brewing Company is looking for a Sales Representative for the Hampton Roads market. The ideal candidate resides in the Peninsula area. This position is our primary connection to retail accounts  and customers and is primarily responsible for conducting account visits in identified market(s) as well as all stages of planning, executing and representing Alewerks Brewing Company at account events and general events/ festivals. Competitive salary package offered based on experience.

 

Essential Duties (include but are not limited to the following):

  • Plan and arrange events at accounts and work with their manager, customers and the public to effectively promote and successfully prepare for and run those events

  • Represent Alewerks at account events and general festivals/events.

  • Develop close relationships with distributors as well as on and off- premise accounts

  • In coordination with distributors, sales, & marketing teams, develop and execute unique educational plans, materials & presentations for events, in store demos and customers

  • 75% - 80% of time spent in the field with focus on account visits, distributor work- withs and crew drives.

  • Host retailers and distributors at brewery

  • Represent Alewerks in an enthusiastic and respectful manner with distributor, accounts, and customers

  • Perform merchandising at accounts during visits, as appropriate.

  • Create and maintain account profiles in designated CRMs.

  • Maintain self-education on Alewerks brands and the craft beer industry in general, including applicable laws & regulations.

  • Promptly reply to account emails & phone calls and escalate issues appropriately

  • Monitor special event beer inventory and work with distribution & supervisor to ensure timely shipping of special event beer

  • Assist with distribution of POS & merchandise to distributor and accounts.

  • Track and monitor sales activity in accounts

  • Execute all administrative responsibilities in a timely manner


Essential Skills/ Qualifications

  • Related work experience: 2 years relevant experience in craft beer sales or distribution required

  • Ability to build and maintain customer relationships

  • Passion for & knowledge of craft beer

  • Ability to communicate effectively & with excellent customer service skills, both orally and in writing

  • Proficient in social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram and Twitter

  • Self-motivated & able to work without direct oversight

  • Proficient in Mac OS, Microsoft Office & database programs

  • Ability to bend over, twist, kneel, climb stairs, stand for the duration of a shift, lift 55+ pounds repeatedly, reach with hands and arms, sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch

  • This role requires flexible hours due to participation in promotional events.  Nights and weekends will be required

  • Travel to and participation in trade shows and beer related events as required

  • Drivers license with a clean motor vehicle record required

  • Consistent and reliable access to a vehicle

  • Reside on Peninsula or be willing to relocate into territory

  • Certified Cicerone Level 1 or higher
