Pasteur Street Brewing Company is hiring an Innovation & Trade Brewer!


This position is responsible for PSBC beer recipe development, beer training, and technical sales relating to beer. It requires an in depth knowledge of the brewing process, creativity, a high energy personality, and a passion for brewing the best experimental beers.  


A typical day may consist of:

  • Traveling to meet farmers to source the highest quality ingredients for a new beer and recording some video interviews while at the farm,

  • Spending time in the office working with the design, culinary, and hospitality departments to ensure all beers have a clear description are explained properly for all staff training,

  • Drafting new beer recipes and ensuring that they are clearly explained in a process description for the brewery, and that procurement able to source the ingredients,

  • Brewing test batches of a new beer on our pilot system to experiment with non-traditional ingredients,

  • An inaugural brew of a new recipe on the production scale brewhouse, helping the brewing team with any process issues,

  • Spending a day with our sales team, visiting some of our retail partners and helping to explain the story behind our beers, or

  • Conducting a staff training day at one of our tap rooms in the morning, writing a blog post in the afternoon, and participating in a podcast the same evening.


  • Any of these days might be followed by spending time at bars and restaurants around Vietnam and our export markets in SE Asia, engaging with the beer community and championing the PSBC brand.


    The ideal candidate has a beer cellar with bottles that have been saved for years, is always ahead of the curve when predicting the next big trend in beer styles, has an appreciation for experimentation when it comes to the brewing process, and is equally good at both explaining their love for beer to others, and displaying that passion in a great beer recipe.


    Specific job requirements include:


    • Actively work to grow and develop all members of the brewing department, inspiring a culture of engagement, continuous process improvement, learning, and development

    • Work with department leads to develop and implement long & short term planning goals.   Collaborate on all production activities and create schedules to meet sales forecasts and demands

    • Lead change and project management by developing workable implementation plans, coordinating projects, and communicating changes effectively

    • Research and development reflecting industry trends implementing initiatives to evolve brewery operations standards

    • Develop and manage a progressive training program for service, office, and brewery staff that is in line with PSBC goals

    • Support PSBC events in the local brewing community as well as throughout the company's sales and distribution network and assist Sales Team as needed

    • Be a champion for PSBC in the brewing community
