Full Charge Bookkeeper/Staff Accountant

The Full Charge Bookkeeper/Staff Accountant plays an integral part in the preparation of company financial data.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
Month end close, including reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and analytical procedures.
Accounts Receivable and Payable.
Pay local, state, and federal taxes.
Verify and submit payroll.
Knowledge of prepaid expenses and fixed assets.
Work with production and retail staff to maintain accurate inventory records.
Accurately maintain all vendor, 1099, insurance, legal files, and other accounting files.
Assist with the preparation of year end for tax returns and audits.
Assist with the preparation of annual budgets and monthly budget vs. actual variance.
Assist in expense reporting and other reports as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Associates degree, 2+ years working experience in an accounting department with increasing responsibility.
Experience in a manufacturing company prefered.
Experience with Quickbooks prefered.
Experience with Ekos prefered.
Strong Excel knowledge prefered.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
Excellent time management skills; ability to work independently, be proactive, and take initiative.
Excellent organization and coordination skills; detail oriented & able to manage priorities and routine functions effectively and efficiently.
Proficiency with computers and associated programs (Windows, Microsoft, Google docs, etc).
Ability to work Monday through Friday as well as the flexibility to work beyond 40 scheduled hours per week to meet deadlines as required by management.
