Wachusett Brewing Co., a Top 50 craft brewery, is seeking a Packaging Manager who can lead all aspects of our packaging department, including staff, machines and systems in a fast-growing & evolving organization.  The position must deliver continuous improvement to optimize production performance. This includes systems and operations development, staffing, training, production scheduling, inventory reconciliation and reporting. The Packaging Manager is responsible for employee communication, motivation and morale.
Core Responsibilities:
• Direct oversight of department and initiatives including canning, bottling & kegging
• Consistently meeting daily packaging schedule for all production lines
• Direct and coordinate production processes and operational functions to achieve goals 
• Coordinate and communicate with other departments
• Work with warehouse logistics team to coordinate all support materials 
• Communicate daily with the Executive Engineer on production line performance, down-time issues,      quality concerns and improvement plans
• Enter production items into Orchestrated Beer System
• Review and reconcile inventory data
• Partner with maintenance department to minimize down-times and maximize output
• Ensure packaged product quality meets company standards
• Participate regularly in departmental meetings
• Create and foster a very positive work environment 
• Strive for continual improvements
• Maintain, manage and ensure safety compliance including PPE, safety standards and policies 

• Strong passion for craft beer
• Solid interpersonal skills and a positive attitude
• 2+ years of brewery or manufacturing experience
• 2+ years of operations supervisory skills & experience
• Ability to manage production processes, quality control, costs and utilization of other techniques for      maximizing the effective manufacturing and distribution of goods
• General knowledge of machinery and basic tools 
• Strong scheduling skills
• Proficient computer skills (including Orchestrated Beer, Word & Excel)
• Forklift Certification
Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 170 lbs. Must be able to work on and around packaging equipment, as well as sit in an office for longer periods of time. Must be physically able to handle pallets of beer a forklift. Must be able to perform repetitive tasks in a production-line setting that can be hot, cold, wet or caustic. Ability to use a desktop computer, telephone and office equipment.
