Brickyard Hollow Brewing Company is seeking a Head Brewer for its newly opened brewpub.

COMPANY: Brickyard Hollow Brewing Company (Brickyard) is a privately owned 5BBL brewpub located in the heart of Yarmouth Village which opened in June 2018.
GENERAL JOB OVERVIEW
Seeking a passionate and creative Head Brewer with demonstrated ability and an expectation to produce consistent and high-quality beer. Experience running a full-scale brewery operation is required. Interest and desire to create recipes, grow a brand from the grass roots to broad acceptance highly preferred.
Brickyard Hollow Brewing Company is ideally located in the Village of Yarmouth, in a completely renovated building on the corner of Main and Cleaves Street, which includes a new 5BBL brew house, commercial kitchen, indoor bar and restaurant, and an outdoor beer garden.
Brickyard’s 5BBL brew house supplies the brewpub with a variety of high-quality beers for on-site consumption. Brickyard will supplement this with additional contract brewing of its flagship beers, producing additional volume for keg sales and can production, as well as freeing up in-house production capacity for specialty and pilot brews.
The Head Brewer position is a key member of Brickyard’s Operations Team, reporting directly to the Owners of the brewpub. The Head Brewer will be responsible for all in-house, and all off-site contract brewing, and will spearhead the marketing and growth of off-site sales.
SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Brew house operations – All in-house beer production, storage and inventory management. Head Brewer is responsible for wort production, fermentation and conditioning management, including fermenter/brite CIP & sanitation, monitoring fermentation, dry-hopping, yeast management, transferring beers between tanks, monitoring conditioning, kegging and keg washing and detailed record keeping.
Head Brewer is responsible for contract brewing efforts, working with Management, and will lead the sales and marketing efforts for keg and can sales.
As needed, represent the company at local events and festivals
Write and manage SOPs for brewery
Monitor and report inventories of beer and raw materials, including grain, hops, yeast and chemicals
Creating and manage beer list including seasonals
Developing beer presentations and product releases to engage with the community
Partner and collaborate with Culinary and Management teams to create an innovative and forward-looking food and beverage program.
Assist the entire FOH and BOH teams in providing hands on training regarding the overall brewing program
Ensure highest sanitation and maintenance standards for brewing equipment and facility prioritizing safety for our guests and employees
Work with Management to maintain engaging and accurate social and traditional media presence
Manage purchasing and production quantities within budget expectations
Keep detailed and accurate records for all regulatory filings
Minimum 3 years as a successful brewer, preferably to include Head Brewer or Brew Master experience.
Knowledge of brewing, cost control, accounting and state regulations and norms pertaining to the business
Self-motivated, comfortable working alone as well as ability to work efficiently as part of team
Local health department and food safety knowledge
Understanding of trends in craft beer
Creative vision in order to implement Brickyard’s vision into recipes
Practical experience within varying levels of a full-service restaurant or brewery
Reputation of integrity and "doing the right thing"
Superior communication skills, both written and verbal, combined with a natural ability to influence and build consensus
Competence in Microsoft Office
Excellent problem solving, and operational troubleshooting abilities
Excellent management and organizational skills
Flexibility and ability to change course according to the needs of the company and guests
Head Brewer must be comfortable working without supervision or assistance, and be physically capable of performing all of the activities involved with a small brewpub. Work will involve frequent walking, kneeling, bending, lifting and reaching.
Physical strength, flexibility and stamina are required – ability to lift full kegs (+160lbs) and full grain bags (+80lbs). Going up and down stairs and working in tight spaces.
