Position Title:  Brewer

Position Description:

As an integral part of the success of the Brewery, the Brewer will employ his/her depth of knowledge of beer science in order to play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing our overall product and customer experience.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Complete brewing process in a safe, efficient manner

  • Maintaining the use of standard operating procedures

  • Monitor gravities, temperatures, and carbonation of beer

  • Work closely with all other departments of Ecliptic brand to understand the history, style, and our culture

  • Proficiency in all areas of brewing

    • Accurately and precisely follow recipes

    • Milling (handle 55 lb grain bags)

    • Mashing/Lautering

    • Boil/hopping

    • Graining out

    • Yeast management

    • Fermenting

    • Filtration/fining

    • Centrifuging

    • Packaging

    • Racking

    • Carbonating

    • Keep brewery equipment organized

    • Handling 165 lb kegs

    • Discuss any and all brewery issues with operations manager

  • OSHA Safety compliance and continual training

  • Must observe and practice all Brewery Safety Procedures. Includes wearing the proper PPE at all times on the Packaging Floor

  • Keep up with brewing industry trends and best practices


Desired Skills and Experience

  • Current Food Handler’s and OLCC

  • Brewing Certificate/Degree or Brewery Experience

  • Quality Control in a food/beverage production setting

  • Strong communication skills

  • Strong work ethic and self-starting attitude

  • Good interpersonal skills and team spirit

  • Organized with excellent time management skills

  • The desire to work in a fast-paced, growing company

  • Ability to think outside the box and propose new ideas

  • Genuine enthusiasm for craft beer

  • Willingness to regularly work during evenings and weekends


Job Requirements

  • Able to stand for prolonged periods of time

  • Able to stoop, crawl, twist, turn, lift, kneel, climb ladders and stairs

  • Able to regularly lift/carry 50 pound boxes

  • Occasionally moving up to 165 pound kegs and materials

  • Able to work in indoor and outdoor environment with moderate noise, sometimes slippery floors

  • Floor surface may vary from hard concrete to carpet/rubber mats

  • Ability to tolerate a high-level work pace that is typical for a production Brewery

  • The noise level in the work environment can be loud

  • Able to work 8-10 hours on your feet
