Job Overview

Territory Sales Representative-Portland Metro Area is a full-time position focused on sales representative work throughout the Portland Metro Area in Oregon with potential for out of state travel. The various elements of the job include:

-       Grow Nectar Creek sales in the assigned territory

Nectar Creek remains a young and fast growing company that is working to position itself as a leader of the quickly growing mead category.  In January 2018 we began operations in our facility in Philomath, OR which includes the opening of our Tap Room. Responsibilities

-       Grow Nectar Creek sales in the assigned territory

  • Increase the number of points of distribution for Nectar Creek products
  •  Add additional Nectar Creek placements at existing retail accounts

-       Positive brand interactions with consumers and retailers

  • Work with Nectar Creek sales & marketing team to increase event and sponsorship presence
  • Build relationships with consumers and retailers around positive interactions with Nectar Creek

-       Establish and build reports

  • Monitor sales reports to measure activity, aid in strategic marketing tasks and contribute to distributor inventory management
  • Develop and maintain a detailed record of all Nectar Creek accounts

-       Represent Nectar Creek in the trade

  • Build and develop relationships with new and existing Nectar Creek retailers
  • Positively represent Nectar Creek in the market place
  • Conduct on and off premise tastings

-       ­Exceed sales goals

  • Work with our sales director to develop sales goals for the territory
  • Meet or exceed sales goals to help the company reach total sales goals

-       Collaborate and build relationship with Nectar Creek’s distribution partners

  • Collaborate with our wholesale partners to grow sales in Oregon and out of state markets as required
  • Communicate product information, brand initiatives and goals with distribution partners
  • Maintain brand presence, share of mind, education and awareness in distribution warehouse

-       Special events

  • Represent Nectar Creek at special events on week nights and weekends
  • Work with the Nectar Creek marketing team to identify key in market events

-       Support out of state distributors

  • Travel to other Nectar Creek sales territories to grow company sales
  • Conduct mead education with Distributor Sales Teams
  • Participate in “ride withs” with Distributor Sales Reps

Desired Minimum Qualifications

-Education: High School Diploma or equivalent

-Maintain a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record and vehicle in good and working condition with appropriate levels of insurance coverage.

-Prior retail and/or sales experience in a similar or related field

-Experience and knowledge of the craft beverage industry

-Experience using VIP software

-Outgoing and extraverted personality

-Self-motivated and detail oriented

-Positive attitude and team player

-Excellent communication & time management skills

-Own a smartphone

-Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google applications

-Comfortable speaking in front of groups

-At least 21 years of age

Physical Demands

The physical demands laid out are required for an employee to successfully carry out and preform the functions of this position.  Employee will spend extended periods on their feet, walking, standing, using hands, driving, talking, and hearing. The employee will frequently lift and move up to 40 lbs and move kegs which can weigh up to 165 lbs.

The work environment characteristics are representative of those that will be encountered while performing the essential functions of this position. This position can be defined by frequent ‘field work’ accompanied by various administrative tasks. This includes but is not limited to working unconventional hours with nights and weekends , outdoors at public events and continual movement and frequent stops from one ‘account’ to another.

Compensation and Benefits

Nectar Creek offers wages that are determined by prior experience, qualifications and the job that is held.
