Central Virginia Distributing is a distribution company representing Three Notch’d Brewery, Random Row Brewery, Oozlefinch Craft Brewery, Blue Toad Hard Cider, Big Pippin Hard Cider and Castle Hill Cider.
Territory - Northern Virginia Market. The company reserves the right to expand and or change the area of your territory. You will work closely with our other Territory Managers in NOVA West and East.:
Job Description: This position will entail; building of the Northern Virginia Territory from existing accounts, with further growth and expansion. After an initial planning, organization and training period of no more than two weeks, you will be expected to perform the following weekly tasks.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintain existing customers and new accounts with weekly sales visits.
Actively seek out new customers to expand customer base.
Schedule, set up and attend events, tastings, promotional opportunities in your territory and be willing to attend out of market events from time to time.
Place orders and assign deliveries through our ordering platform. Updates all pertinent information in a Customer Relationship Management tool.
Communicates openly with Director of Sales and Operations Manager.
Coordinator of all things within your territory, events, deliveries, payment, sales and all things related to the operations of the business.
Willing and able to deliver product as needed.
Establish regular contact and build relationships with key decision makers at key accounts.
Conduct sales calls to on and off premise retailers, securing sales through new placements.
Work with suppliers to provide sales literature, marketing and pertinent information to our accounts.
Coordinate planned sales and staff tastings/training.
Conduct promotions at bars and restaurants, samplings at retails stores and brewery visits for retailer.
Ensure our supplier’s inventories and retail trade are rotated properly and are in code.
Be familiar with draft system dynamics and have the ability to troubleshoot when necessary.
Perform ongoing quality control of beer outside of brewery. The ability to spot poor beer rotation, dated or damaged product, proper line cleaning protocols, and evaluation of overall draft system performance is crucial.
Ability and willingness to maintain flexible work schedules. Frequent travel, weekend and extended workdays are necessary.
The ability to drive a motor vehicle to and from accounts continuously.
Attend all sales team meetings, as requested.
Additional duties may be assigned as necessary.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and maintain effective working relationships with proprietors of accounts, top level account decision makers, and our internal team.
Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office programs.
Ability to work independently with little supervision – self-motivated.
High level of craft beer product knowledge.
Excellent oral, analytical, written, and group presentation communication skills.
Strong organizational & planning skills.
Must possess a valid driver’s license
Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Two years of industry experience selling craft beer.
Strong knowledge of the local market for craft beer.
Experience in both distributor and supplier side.
Ability to frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 55 lbs.
Must be able to participate in critical assessment of beers.
The ability to drive a motor vehicle to and from accounts continuously, a clean driving record is a must.
