Lucky Clover Packaging and Craftpack are rapidly growing companies with locations in Baltimore and Sacramento, specializing in beverage packaging and labeling of aluminum beverage cans, and is hiring a Controller responsible for maintaining the finances of both businesses. This person will manage all aspects of daily, monthly and annual financial activities through accounting software with interactions with the Sales, Operations, and Executive Officers. This is a full-time, salaried position located in Baltimore, MD and will report directly to the President and CEO/Owner.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
Oversee three direct reports who process Billing, AR, and Treasury Management
Oversee accounts receivable, including credit approval, escalated collections on customers with past due balances, notes receivable, and quarterly rebates
Manage the daily cash flow of the business and forecast short-term and long-term needs
Oversee the approval and processing of Accounts Payable
Provide guidance and oversight in the tracking and maintaining of inventory under average cost by working with the Supply Chain Manager and Project Manager.
Process and manage payroll for roughly 30 employees, including monthly commissions
Complete monthly close for two companies, with specific emphasis on due to/from activity between entities, inventory balances and costing, and fixed asset additions
Answer accounting and financial questions from executives by researching and interpreting data (e.g. job costing, profitability analysis, IRR, etc.)
Prepare and analyze the monthly budget/forecast to actual variance reports per department
Protect organization's value by keeping information confidential
Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities (reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations)
Support organization’s mission by acting as a member of the executive team and help to make strategic decisions through forecasting and reporting
Work collaboratively with other executive members to review product pricing and offerings on at least an annual basis
Work with Supply Chain Manager and Project Manager to maintain accurate inventory calculations
Assist CPA with annual tax return preparations
Bachelors degree in Accounting/Finance or a Bachelors degree in Business with emphasis in Accounting. CPA is a plus.
Experience with manufacturing or product-based businesses (dealing with inventory and COGS)
Minimum of 7-10 years experience in the Accounting and/or Corporate Finance field
A perfectionist by nature, with no tolerance for sloppiness
Highly skilled in dealing with financial and numeric data
Self-starter who enjoys challenges and a fast-paced environment
Skilled in use of MS Office and/or Google Apps platform
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficient in using accounting software. Experience using ERP system is preferred
Must be able to function in a start-up environment with aggressive growth plans
Salary commensurate with experience
