Fort Point Beer Company is located in the Presidio of San Francisco. We have experienced steady growth over the last few years and are looking for a driven, high-energy individual to join our team in the role of Regional Sales Manager for Southern California as we continue to develop in this market. The job requires a deep grasp of the market and landscape - supporting the Sales team to reach set goals by coaching and mentoring as well as training on company sales tactics and enforcing policies.

The Regional Sales Manager for Southern California is a high level role that will drive the development and growth of all sales channels in Southern California. Regional Sales Managers focus on the development and growth of a given sales areas, and at the same time drive the positive image of the brand through thoughtful collaborations and relationship building with our key accounts. Responsibilities include helping to develop the skills of Sales Representatives, implementing and enforcing best practices, collaborating with the Partnerships and Community Engagement (P&C) department and supporting each sales person out in the field day-to-day. The position will involve some travel within the sales region.

PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute region specific sales objectives set forth by senior management
  • Manage, mentor and build out the assigned sales division in assigned region
  • Work with other Sales managers to create labor cost efficiencies within the sales team
  • Collaborate with directly reporting Sales Seps to develop & maintain relationships with accounts
  • Take lead role in the process of hiring, training and development of new sales reps
  • Partner with P&C to execute special events
  • Manage pre-sell lists and special releases
  • Assist with Base CRM implementation and management
  • Last order tracking, account base management (transfers, etc)
  • Team up with sales reps to close key target accounts
  • Monitor sales reports closely, track progress and provide feedback and assistance if necessary

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION REQUIRED:

  • Territory management experience
  • Experience in assigned beer market in both on and off sale channels
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking capabilities
  • Strong communication skills: verbal, listening and written
  • Must have competitive intelligence within the marketplace
  • Excellent negotiation and influencing skill
  • Must be self-motivated
  • Excellent leadership skills 

REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • Being able to lift, push and/or pull 35lbs. on a regular basis
  • Having the ability to push, pull and manipulate 165 lbs

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/EDUCATION PREFERRED:

  • Capable of seeking out new ideas, exhibit initiative and be proactive
  • Professional and calm demeanor, especially during stressful times

EQUIPMENT OPERATION/SKILLS:  

  • Driver’s License required
