Ithaca Beer Co., is looking to hire a self-motivated, multi-talented, organized, team-oriented individual as a Maintenance Engineer. Successful candidates will possess a well-rounded skill set, solutions oriented approach,  and a do anything  attitude.  In addition to the responsibilities listed below this position may include time assisting on the packaging line (knowledge of packaging lines, conveyors and pumps is beneficial but not required, training will be provided) and helping with the setup of special events.

Responsibilities:

  • Preventative maintenance as well as repairs on all brewing and packaging equipment

  • Inventory

  • Keep a running prioritized list of maintenance needs from all departments: either perform or delegate equipment, building and facility maintenance and projects

  • Working knowledge of:  Glycol systems, boilers, electrical systems, seals, material handling equipment, pumps, compressors, motors, draught systems, safety systems

  • Document work accurately, as required, to meet all regulatory requirements

  • Maintain vendor and contractor communication and relationships

  • Other responsibilities as assigned

Skills:

  • Equipment set-up, functions, operating procedures and preventative/predictive maintenance techniques

  • Knowledge of a 50bbl brew house

  • Experience in a 50,000bbl/year facility

  • Knowledge of glycol chillers and HVAC systems

  • Forklift/scissor lift experience

  • Stainless and non-stainless TIG welding certification

  • Mechanically inclined/able to operate hand tools and machinery (i.e. non-powered hand tools such as tap and die, shears, pipe threader, etc; powered tools such as drills, drill press, power-snake, disc grinders, etc.)

  • Experience working in a maintenance department

  • Proven leadership skills

  • Diagnostic, multiple solutions oriented approach with a focus on alternatives with benefit/cost analysis

  • Open communication across departments and "levels"

  • Ability to follow directions graciously

  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft office

  • Always looking to improve both individually and for the company\
