The Beer Connect is a dynamic online self-distribution platform and marketplace for all things craft beer. Our recent expansion added direct-to-retail sales to our current offering of direct-to-consumer sales. 

We are looking for an experienced, self-driven, highly motivated, like-minded “Hopportunitst” (aka brand ambassador, but in a disruptive way). As a “Hopportunist” you will help us grow our brand and the breweries that we have the pleasure of representing. 

You will be responsible for prospecting, developing and maintaining new relationships with both breweries and retailers, in addition to growing pre-existing brewery relations and sales; create new procedures and SOP's related to market/product launches and promotional events; and uphold THE BEER CONNECT philosophy, guidelines, policies, and safety procedures in assigned territories.

You will represent the best breweries and best beers with the best platform!

Our Territory Sales Representative will:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with breweries, retailers, and beer festival/event companies 

  • Promote and sell draft and bottled beer, while growing points of distribution/volume in assigned territories and brands

  • Create and improve the visibility of the brands in assigned territories

  • Handle new brewery & retailer inquiries and process new, existing and recurring orders

  • Assist Director of “Hopportunity” in executing business plans to meet goals and drive accountability with breweries and retail accounts

  • Assist in planning and coordinating new market/product launches and promotions to ensure achievement of sales goals*

  • Assist in creating and presenting monthly and annual reviews to breweries* 

  • Prepare monthly sales and marketing reports on market research, competitors, and activity for monthly presentation to Management Team*

  • Update and maintain calendar of market launches and festivals in assigned territories and share with Leadership Team

  • Adhere to and maintain annual budget with direction from Director of Hopportunity

  • Be educated on current legislation and trends within the industry 

  • Research and participate in continuous education related to the role, such as customer service, sales techniques, new product offerings and the craft beer industry

  • Assist in resolving brewery and retailer issues and ensure customer satisfaction while maintaining the integrity of The Beer Connect

  • Take an active role in monthly meetings conducted by management staff*

  • Provide weekly reports on territory activities to Director of Hopportunity

  • Represent Company by attending and/or pouring at special events such as beer dinners and beer festivals

  • Follow all Company safety procedures, policies, and SOP's

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Education and/or Experience:  A Certificate and/or Diploma from a Business School, or equivalent combination of education and experience; a minimum of 2 years of experience working in an influential sales roles within the craft beer or beverage industries  

  • Prior Distribution sales is a huge plus

  • BJCP and/or Cicerone certification (or agreement to enroll in a program)

  • At least 21 years of age

  • Strong interpersonal skills with a successful proven track record of developing strong relationships and meeting/exceeding sales goals

  • Solid knowledge of beer styles and the craft brewery industry

  • Demonstrate approachability, composure, and strong customer service orientation*

  • Experience or education in marketing/promotions is preferred

  • Solutions-oriented, self-motivated, and results driven*

  • Excellent analytical and problem solving skills*

  • Computer skills with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Strong decision making, planning and problem solving skills*

  • Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills to effectively communicate with staff, customers, and vendors

  • Ability to work independently and within a team to accomplish goals

  • Well organized with the ability to manage multiple, competing priorities*

  • Ability to lift 55 lbs regularly and stand for long periods of time

  • Availability to work occasional evenings, weekends, and holidays for special work-related events such as beer dinners, tap takeovers, etc.

  • Ability to travel up to 25% of the time
