The Craft Beer Specialist will lead the Breakthru Beverage craft beer initiative and maximize the sale of our beer portfolio, drive the creation and execution of programs for craft brands portfolio throughout the state, and provide training and brand management of the craft portfolio in order to incubate brand awareness and accelerate growth. Position requires expert knowledge in the installation and maintenance of taps and kegs.

Serve as subject matter expert on craft beers within Breakthru Beverage portfolio for internal and external contacts to include partnering on sales calls, product education, and equipment setup and maintenance.

Drive growth of market share of craft brands in accounts.

Support sales and promotional activities that effectively counter competitive trends by establishing goals for individual territories, and distribution standards for brands.  Develop monthly, weekly, and daily written plans for execution of beer objectives.

Survey market area to detect business trends and opportunities for new products or new applications for existing products.

Provide training and ongoing education on effective draft lines, taps, and market trends for customers and associates.

Deliver, set-up, and takedown of draft equipment at special events throughout the year. Maintain a clean/sanitary work and storage are for draught equipment.

Troubleshoot and repair dedicated draft line(s).

Disseminate supplier information and obtain feedback on the effectiveness, efficiency and relevance of the promotional activities.

Market the craft portfolio through print and digital media, comprehensive training and brand showcases. Create effective account presentations for sales calls as well as staff training.

Provide the “direct link” between craft suppliers and sales teams.

Deliver comprehensive internal education platform of craft brands to include basic knowledge, history, and production.

Conceptualize craft brand strategy for new and priority brands.

Understands competitive pricing and product programming by reviewing pricing schedules and surveying accounts.

Ensures maximum brand visibility within accounts by maintaining account standards as determined by management and using effective and current point of sale materials when appropriate.

Job duties include working days, nights, and weekends on promotional activities and other account activities.


High School diploma or equivalent required. Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred. Ability to hold a Solicitor’s Permit required. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a motor vehicle. A minimum of two years in sales or industry related experience is preferred. Exceptional brand knowledge - Current Cicerone Level 2 Certified strongly preferred.
  • Industry experience in local market preferred. Proficient MS Office skills. Beverage training experience preferred. Working knowledge of Brewery operations preferred. A sound understanding of beer is required. Strong computer, customer service and interpersonal skills required. Results oriented professional with excellent verbal/written communication skills; uses diplomacy and discretion. Ability to multi-task, work independently and/or within a team, pay attention to detail and meet deadlines. Proficient PC skills using MS Office and other various computer programs including presentation software. Familiarity with assigned territory is a plus. Please visit our careers portal to apply .
