The Sales Director is responsible for delivering results by leading, managing, and executing supplier and Major Brands sales and marketing priorities to standard.  This position works closely with suppliers and Major Brands’ sales managers to ensure supplier goals are met while meeting company budgets relative to revenue, spend, and profit margin.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for delivering sales, budget and profitability results by overseeing all segments of our business in a specified division portfolio
  • Direct priorities with Sales Managers and Sales Representatives to ensure supplier sales goals are met
  • Assign monthly priority case goals for managers in order to insure case goal attainment and write all monthly incentives as it relates to supplier specific priority and case goal achievement
  • Provide execution guidelines and influence managers by providing critical market knowledge and communicate opportunities
  • Work with sales managers to influence sales force to increase Major Brands supplier prioritization and ensures efforts/visits/programs are aligned around focus vicinities, target accounts, and respective growth
  • Follow through on all product pricing as it relates to new product set-up, monthly list and promotional pricing, price supported depletion allowances, and year-over-year gross margin activity
  • Oversee the day-to-day programming for all suppliers; including incentives, market specific activities, national account authorizations, Off-Premise chain grocery authorizations, new product distribution relative to channel specific initiatives, and implementation of all supplier specific program drives
  • Oversee the suppliers’ monthly, quarterly, and yearly case goals that are supported through new product launches, distribution drives, and case specific achievements
  • Participate in meetings that relate to day-to-day supplier programming, reviews, pricing, new items, and pre-planning activity
  • Ensure proper execution of special events in relation to product promotions
  • Responsible for approving sample requests, invoices, and “graphics work order requests” on a daily basis
  • Review and act on aged inventory through market specific activity consisting of closeout pricing or customized programming
  • Oversee the non-case specific activities as they relate to consumer awareness/education and philanthropic activities
  • Build key relationships and serve as primary/direct market contact  with assigned supplier accounts within respective channel
  • Interact with key account personnel at all levels of the organization ranging from headquarter buyers to in-store personnel
  • Work one-on-one with non-direct reports who impact the attainment of  targeted sales as it relates to case goals, distribution targets and volume opportunities
  • Review portfolio quarterly to analyze opportunities as they relate to additional suppliers, non-relevant suppliers and portfolio voids
  • Follow up with suppliers on aged account receivables
  • Understands and complies with all State and Federal regulations regarding the sale and promotion of assigned products
  • May be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience required
  • 6+ years Beverage Alcohol Industry experience; beer industry experience a plus
  • Prior management experience a plus

      • Must have the ability to prioritize responsibilities and work effectively, while dealing with a variety of requests throughout the day
  • Must be proficient in using various communication tools and technology to keep customers, peers, and managers apprised of their efforts
  • Proficiency in various technology platforms:  Diver, ROE, electronic POS order, etc.
  • Superior research and follow-up skills required
  • Must have a clear driving record in accordance with Major Brands’ Driving Policy
  • Ability to lift 40 pounds
