Earlier this summer, Axle Brewing Company announced they would cease production and close Ferndale’s Livernois Tap & Brewery. On Friday, Detroit’s Eastern Market Brewing Co. announced they are acquiring Axle.

Earlier this month, Axle Brewing Company announced they would close their taproom and brewery on June 30 as they pursued a buyer to grow their brand. On the heels of this news, Axle is releasing the stunning 2019 Wolf Tone BBA Imperial Stout.

Taking their fifth deep dive into the world of complex barrel-aged beers, Axle Brewing Co. in Ferndale will launch the latest iteration of their popular Livernois Barrel Project on Saturday, April 13 at 4 p.m. ‘Secret Meeting’ is a 13 percent ABV rye-barrel aged Baltic Porter with strong notes of chocolate, vanilla and marshmallow, an ideal sipper for Michigan’s early spring.

A 9.3% super-dry Malt Liquor, VSG has an ethereal orange hue and a heady foam with a straw color rarely found in nature. Just when you think it couldn’t get more interesting, the flavor profile escalates dramatically.

Following up from their successful barrel launch of Wolf Tone, Axle Brewing Co’s LBP (Livernois Barrel Project) is back this summer with a new addition. Forward Observer is a 10.8% Double Oatmeal Stout aged in bourbon barrels.

Wolf Tone, an 11.5% ABV Imperial Stout aged in bourbon barrels is the first release from the brewery’s Livernois Barrel Project which will release four new beers in 2018.
