Catawba's holiday-themed collaboration beer release event and food drive benefits MANNA FoodBank.

Catawba Brewing is hosting a special holiday-themed food drive and beer release on Sunday, December 20th, 3-6pm. Guests at the Asheville South Slope tasting room are encouraged to bring canned goods to donate to MANNA FoodBank. For each can donated, the patron will receive a raffle ticket for a chance to win prizes from Catawba and other local Asheville businesses.

Catawba will release a new seasonal Small Batch beer brewed for the event. Auntie’s House Sweet Potato Pie Porter is a collaboration between Catawba and Bruce’s Yams – available on draft and in exclusive 4-packs cans. Layered with rich chocolate and caramel malts, this silky smooth Milk Porter is jam-packed with Carolina-grown sweet potatoes, chopped pecans, vanilla, and cinnamon. The beer showcases flavor notes of dark chocolate, marshmallows, brown sugar, candied nuts, and Southern holiday comfort food.

$1 from each pint and $2 from each 4-pack of Auntie’s House sold in Asheville will be donated to MANNA.

Wear an ugly Christmas sweater for a chance to win additional prizes. To enter, guests will pose for a photo in front of the “Yamas Tree,” post on Instagram, and tag @catawbabrewing_avl and @brucesyams.

Participants at the event will be physically distanced in accordance with CDC guidelines, while interacting in a fun, social environment – with indoor and outdoor seating available. A live DJ will be onsite spinning Christmas records. Catawba welcomes drop-ins anytime during the event.

About Catawba Brewing Company:
Catawba Brewing Co. has been an industry leader in Western North Carolina’s craft beer scene for over two decades. The company was founded in 1999 by WNC natives, the Pyatt family, who were inspired by their weekend homebrew hobby. From humble beginnings, the business has grown exponentially to become a major craft beer supplier across five states. Catawba now operates breweries and tasting rooms in three NC cities – Morganton, Asheville, and Charlotte – embracing a hybrid wholesale/retail strategy. With the 2018 acquisition of Palmetto Brewing Co. in Charleston, SC, the Pyatt family hobby has spawned one of the Southeast’s largest and most diverse craft brewing entities.
