Smuttynose Brewing Company to host first Barbeque Benefit
Smuttynose Barbeque Competition to benefit Hampton Fire Fighters Charitable Organization

Hampton, New Hampshire — Sunday, August 26th from 2-6pm, Smuttynose Brewing Company will host its first barbeque competition, Smutty BBQ Smokeshow, to support the Hampton Fire Fighters Charitable Organization.

The competition will feature professional and “backyard” barbeque teams that will compete to smoke the best ribs. The professional competitors are: Hayseed Restaurant, Messy Mike’s BBQ, Huntspoint BBQ, Boogalows BBQ, Ore Nell’s, The Goat, and Smokin' Bettys. These contestants will be joined by teams from the Hampton Fire Department and Hampton Police Department.

There will be no admission fee to this event, and guests are encouraged to try the specialty ribs from each vendor and judge for themselves! The ribs for the people’s choice judging portion will be available for $2. The official judging panel will include representatives from the Hampton Fire and Police Departments and the Hampton Chamber of Commerce.

Guests will enjoy live music provided by local band Red Tail Hawk, delicious Smuttynose and Smuttlabs beer, and food from each professional vendor during this outdoor event. A new Smuttynose Beer, a Blackberry Sour, will make its debut at the competition as well. Blackberry Sour is the third beer within the Smuttynose Sour series, which will be produced on a rotating schedule. Smuttlabs Moon Water Tropical IPA (released on August 18) will be available at this event, as well as Smuttynose Old Brown Dog and Finestkind IPA.

The Hampton Fire Fighters Charitable Organization is a local non-profit charity that raises money for firefighters and other community members in need of financial assistance due to illness and crisis. The organization supports the poor, underprivileged, and distressed community members and also provides education and safety within the firefighting profession. Organization President, Craig Jordan, explains HFFCO’s mission as a commitment towards working with and for the surrounding community in order to reach those who need help.

Smuttynose Brewing Company will be donating $1 for every pint sold during the event to the HFFCO, and all of the proceeds from the organization’s cornhole tournament will be donated as well.
