Inspired by their love of barley, water, hops and yeast, Chicago’s Forbidden Root, a botanic brewery, is simply : inspired by nature. Bark, stems, flowers, herbs, spices, leaves, roots, and other foraged flavors have long been a part of beer.

While they don’t claim to have invented botanic beer, we are obsessing on how they have embraced it. All the while believing in the magic of harnessing nature.

Join executive Chef Dan Weiland (formerly of Trenchermen, Blackbird and Avec) on May 5th and 6th inside frame as he brings us a dinner and beer pairing, with a menu that’s American rustic.
