Fort Point hotspot gets in the spirit of Fenway Franks for home opener

City Tap House is ready to hit it out of the park this Opening Day. On April 5, the Fort Point beer paradise will put the infamous Fenway Frank in the spotlight as they roll out a Pop-Up Hot Dog Bar. Sox faithful will order up a Kayem Fenway Frank ($5) and turn this old-fashioned treat into a customized frankfurter by hitting the topping bar filled with favorites like sauerkraut, beer cheese sauce, pickled jalapeños, traditional and Sriracha ketchups, a collection of mustards, relish, onions, bacon and homemade ranch and blue cheese dressings. Wash it down with a Sam Adams 26.2 Brew, the Boston brewery’s seventh-year collaboration with the Boston Athletic Association, that will remain on the taps through Marathon Monday.

It is said that during the 2013 World Series, Red Sox Nation ate 15,000 franks per game so City Tap urges baseball and hot dog aficionados to break this record during the 118th Opening Day. The 2:05pm game against the Rays will be on – with sound – in all its glory on City Tap’s 11 HDTVs, including three mammoth screens that line the bar’s 60 tap lines. Let’s play ball!
