Brouwerij West beers are paired with celebrity chef Brendan Collin's food at Birch

San Pedro/Hollywood (April 19, 2017) – Two of Los Angeles’ best eating and drinking establishments, San Pedro’s Brouwerij West and Hollywood’s Birch, helmed by Michelin-starred chef Brendan Collins, are teaming up for a unique dining experience on Monday, February 27, 2017 at Birch. This dinner will be the debut of an on-going monthly series Brouwerij West is developing to showcase their beers paired with outstanding food at acclaimed restaurants in Los Angeles and beyond. Brouwerij West Founder Brian Mercer, President Dave Holop and members of the brewery’s beermaking team will be on hand to discuss the beers along with Chef Collins and his Chef de Cuisine Weston Ludeke who will guide diners through the pairings.

7 Course Beer-Pairing Dinner Menu

• First course: Mer Bleu Oysters, peach granite, tarragon, paired with Brouwerij West’s Animal Farm, a mixed-fermentation beer with peaches (3 oz. champagne flute).

• Second course: Foie Gras Parfait, blackberry jelly, curried cashew, brioche paired with Brouwerij West’s signature blackberry saison, Dog Ate My Homework (3 oz.).

• Third course: Smoked Sturgeon, Nasturtium cream, bagel chips paired with Brouwerij West’s Popfuji, an unfiltered pilsner. (6 oz.) .

• Fourth course: Into the Garden, cucumber, radish, buttermilk paired with Brouwerij West’s Money Horse, an all-Brettanomyces saison (4 oz.).

• Fifth course: Trio of Lamb, asparagus, morel mushroom, mint paired with Saison Extra (Barrel-Fermented), Brouwerij West’s evolving house saison (12 oz.).

• Sixth course: Whipped bleu cheese, fig, agretti, crostini paired with Brouwerij West's Mør Mør Belgian-style dark strong ale/quadrupel (2 oz./sherry glass).

• Seventh course: Chocolate, coffee, marshmallow paired with Brouwerij West’s Small Gods dry stout (4 oz.).
