Moylan’s Brewing is turning 21 next week!

Moylan’s is turning 21 next week!

August 25th marks the 21sth anniversary of Moylan’s Brewing in Novato, so it’s going all out. Which includes rolling back prices to what they were when the establishment first opened in 1995.

And to mark the occasion, award-winning Brewmaster Derek Smith is busting out a fresh batch of his Harvest IPA. It contains minimal amounts of crystal and munich malts to help accentuate the fresh Lake County hops harvested by their friends at Hopsmeister Farms. It’s a mix of fresh whole Cascade, Centennial, Chinook, Gargoyle and Ivanhoe flowers.

The hops were delivered fresh to the brewery within six hours of picking. Smith then turns his mash into a giant hop back and then the fresh hops are loaded in as the hot wort is run through them.

On the eve of its birthday, Moylan’s is proud to be both an award-winning local brewery, and family-friendly restaurant serving that combination has helped to make Moylan’s a Marin County landmark. “Twenty one years ago when I opened my second brewery in my newly adopted home town of Novato, the location was an obvious choice,” said Brendan Moylan. “I was excited to bring a traditional pub with exceptional food to Novato. I wanted to give something back to my neighbors with a place they could call their own.”
