The label says it all. If you’re looking for a Chocolate Stout, this is it. But be warned, this beer is 10 percent despite what you may think while drinking. Brooklyn Chocolate Stout pours jet black in color with a very small amount of brown colored head. The nose is exactly what you would expect, chocolate upon chocola...more

Although tough to come by, Brooklyn's Black Ops is definitely a beer you want to get your hands on. Under the cork and cage is a black beer that looks almost oily and viscous with an off white head that settles to two fingers. The aromas give away the flavor with bourbon, chocolate, caramel, black cherries or currants and ...more

As part of their big bottle series, Brooklyn Brewing releases Local 1 a strong Belgian pale ale. In keeping with a local theme, the bottle art is very reminiscent of a NYC subway sign or fire house. Either way, what's in the bottle pours a bright, slightly hazy gold color. It has good carbonation and a large head that take...more

Brooklyn’s Post Road Pumpkin Ale has an elegant and inviting label, but failed to impress us upon sampling. While the earthy pumpkin aroma is nice, it is a bit one dimensional. A more vegetal flavor is the defining characteristic of this offering and the nutmeg and cinnamon additions are nearly undetectable. A long pumpkin...more

As part of their Brewmaster’s Reserve, Brooklyn Brewing released Sorachi Ace, a classic saison style beer, but made with Oregon-grown Sorachi Ace hops. The aromas are floral and citrus with lemongrass. Brooklyn claims it tastes like sunshine in a glass, but we think it smells more like spring in a glass. There’s an excelle...more

With summer approaching, there is nobody more ready for warm weather than east-coasters. What better way to celebrate than with a seasonal offering that is clean, crisp and incredibly session-able. The Brooklyn Summer Ale pours a clean pale/straw color, inviting the drinker in to give it a taste. If you can make it past a...more
