Willimantic Brewing to Host Benefit Party for Local Museum

Willimantic, CT – The Windham Textile & History Museum is asking the community to help raise funds to paint their building located at 411 Main Street, Willimantic. In response, Willimantic Brewing Company will host a Party with the Presidents on Monday, February 17th at 6 pm.

Local historian, Bev York, will lead guests in a lighthearted evening of beer, food and history. Guests will learn about our founding fathers and their beers, their favorite food and drink recipes and travels to Willimantic! Willimantic Brewing Company will feature special menu items created for the occasion and colonial-era drink specials! Plus, we’ll be tapping a special presidential brew and donating a portion of its sales to the painting fund!

The Windham Textile & History Museum is located in the historic former headquarters of the American Thread Company of Willimantic, Connecticut. The museum is a non-profit educational institution housing a museum, library and an archive. They anticipate needing $25,000 to paint the building.

About the Willimantic Brewing Company:

The restaurant and pub-brewery makes many different types of beer each month, and features other producers’ craft brews on draught as well. Housed in an historic granite and limestone 1909 U.S. Post Office Building, the pub was the customer lobby and the private dining room housed the postmaster’s office. The main dining room, from where you can view the 7 barrel brewery was the post office work room. The brewpub’s post office-themed menu is overflowing with mouthwatering selections, featuring over 100 items including award-winning wings to steaks, pasta, seafood, burgers and salads.
