MELBOURNE, FL. – Florida’s “Master of the Weird”, author Charlie Carlson and acclaimed Monster Hunter, Scott Marlowe will be on hand at the Florida Beer Company, Saturday, September 8th at 12pm for a meet and greet and to sign copies of their books for fans of the weird, strange and unexplained.
A local legend, Carlson’s best selling, Weird Florida, released in 2005, has reached two million copies sold and is now in paperback. Carlson’s book touched off a TV series by the same name, produced by WLRN in Miami and is now in its second season.
Scott Marlowe, best known for his work on primate-like creatures like Florida’s legendary Swamp Ape, penned Cryptid Creatures of Florida, first published in 2011. The book has quickly become the definitive monster hunter’s guide for adventurers from the Sunshine State to across the US and beyond.
“It’s a natural connection,” says Marlowe, commenting on Carlson and he appearing at the Florida Beer Company’s Tasting Room. “Charlie and I both have written about Florida’s Legendary Swamp Ape and here Florida Beer Company has come up with a brew that honors and immortalizes this out-of-the-ordinary phenomenon.”
Carlson and Marlowe are to appear at the Florida Beer Company Tasting Room located at 2500 S. Harbor City Blvd., Melbourne, FL on Saturday, September 8, 2012 at 12pm for the “Weird and Wild Book Tour” to sign copies of their books for their many area fans and to sample Florida Beer Company’s Swamp Ape IPA. Their appearance promises to be, well, weird and wild!
