WATCH LIVE: Video Stream of Brew Talks Virginia

The Brew Talks Southeast Tour will make its final stop at the Devils Backbone Outpost Brewery in Lexington, Virginia on Thursday, Feb. 27.

The evening will feature two in-depth conversations on the business of craft beer. For those unable to attend the Brew Talks event in person, we’ve made available a free live video steam, which begins at 5:30 P.M. EST.

TUNE IN LIVE

Devils Backbone founder Steve Crandall and COO Hayes Humphreys will join Brewbound editor Chris Furnari in a discussion on managing rapid growth.

In just its third year of full-scale production, Devils Backbone is on pace to produce 50,000 barrels of beer, but that impressive growth hasn’t come without its own set of challenges. Crandall and Humphries will share insights from growing Devils Backbone into one of the country’s fastest-growing regional breweries. Throughout the conversation, the pair will explain the importance of accessing growth capital, strategies for earning key retail placements and ways in which other rapidly evolving craft breweries can balance the onslaught of new business development opportunities.

Prior to discussion, attendees will hear from Sam Crickenberger, the director of community development in Rockbridge County. In a moderated question-and-answer session, Crickenberger will discuss craft beer’s role in urban development and how startup breweries can build critical business relationships with their local municipal officials.

Sponsored by Crown Beverage Packaging and VicinityBrew, the Brew Talks Southeast Tour is a FREE, traveling meetup series that aims to provide craft brewers with access to valuable insight into the branding, marketing and distribution of craft beer. Launched in 2013, Brew Talks are designed to provide craft brewers, distributors and retailers the opportunity to come together in beer friendly locales and have in-depth discussions on the business side of craft beer.
