Boulder, CO — Things are hoppin’ at Upslope Brewing Company. Towering pallets of beer cans are rushed to be filled by swollen fermenting tanks, kegs in the bustling taproom are draining at a record pace while a local singer sips the brewery’s newest summer release between verses of “Friend of the Devil”. At a table nearby, the co-founders of Boulder’s award-winning craft brewery are pouring over marketing campaign ideas with the newest addition of their marketing team: Katie Hill.
Katie spent the last five years working at SweetWater Brewing Company in Atlanta, Georgia. The wealth of knowledge gained while working at one of the South’s largest craft breweries positioned Hill as an obvious choice to take the reins as Upslope’s marketing manager.
With the creation of the new role Henry Wood, Upslope Brewing’s director of sales and marketing, will be able to focus his efforts on sales — a segment of the company that has seen enormous growth with the opening of their new headquarters this past April.
“Katie’s experience will be pivotal for us,” said Wood. “Her passion for craft beer and her enthusiasm for becoming a Coloradoan makes her the perfect match for our team.”
For years Hill has wanted to live in Colorado and experience the outdoor lifestyle that Upslope embodies. When the chance came to join the crew at their Boulder base, she made it happen.
“I’m excited to make the move out west to the mecca of it all,” said Hill. “I look forward to growing with this company, enjoying the outdoors and helping spread the good word about Upslope’s tasty brews along the way.”
Although sampling a wide variety of Upslope’s pleasurable pints will be a part of Hill’s duties, the majority of her time will be focused on coordinating beer festivals and events, overseeing Upslope’s line of apparel and promotional materials and managing their digital content.
About Upslope Brewing Company:
Boulder-based Upslope Brewing Company is the creator of premium, filtered ale that is artfully crafted to compliment the outdoor lifestyle. Upslope beer is made with natural ingredients, including snowmelt. The four flagship beers include: Pale Ale, Craft Lager, India Pale Ale, and Brown Ale. Upslope’s beer is packaged in aluminum cans because it is exceptionally portable, preserves the taste of the beer by keeping light out, and it uses fewer resources to pack and ship. In an ongoing effort to protect Colorado watershed, and the key ingredient in Upslope ale, one percent of Upslope’s Craft Lager revenue benefits the Colorado Trout Unlimited.
