Upland to Release Harvest Ale

unnamed

Bloomington, IN – Upland Brewing Co. announced today that Harvest Ale will be released October 1st in 4 packs and on draught at select craft beer bars throughout our distribution territory. It will be on tap at the Upland Bloomington Brewpub October 1st and our Broad Ripple Tasting Room and Carmel Tap House on October 6th.

Like a kid on Christmas morning. That’s how we describe the mood around here the day our freshly harvested Citra hops arrive from the Pacific Northwest. After all, it’s this precious cargo that lets us start brewing our Harvest Ale every fall. The addition of wet hops is what gives this beer its extra-vibrant flavor—which makes the long wait for those hops worth it. It’s just too bad harvest day comes only once a year.

Beer Description: An American Pale Ale by design, but an even more vibrant rendition by loading up our hopback with freshly harvested Citra hops. Expect huge wafts of tropical fruit notes, balanced by a moderate bitterness and light tasted malt character. A showcase for one of our four favorite ingredients and a delight for all the hopheads.

ABV: 5.5%   IBU: 62

About the Brewery

Located in Bloomington, Indiana, Upland’s rich history dates all the way back to 1998. Taking traditional recipes and making them a bit more awesome, Upland Brewing Co. came up with their own recipes rooted with inspiration from good beer and good friends, providing a fresh local option to their communities. The name Upland comes from the term geologists gave to this area of Southern Indiana land which was never overrun by the glaciers that flattened much of Indiana’s landscape. The adversity of the land bred independent thinkers who had strong wills, a connection to the land, and a wry sense of humor about life. Upland’s approach to brewing beer honors the spirit of these people and this place.
