Baton Rouge, LA — Tin Roof Brewing Company is excited to announce the release of an officially licensed beer of Louisiana State University that will be available just in time to kick off the 2016 football season.

“We’re really excited about this beer,” William McGehee, co-founder of Tin Roof Brewing Company said. “We want to make a beer that the LSU community can not only be proud of but also be a part of.”

In an effort to make this beer feel as local as possible, Tin Roof wants the fans of LSU to help them decide what beer to brew.

“We’ve created a slate of 8-10 test batches of various styles to sample in a blind tasting panel,” said McGehee. “Each recipe was designed with the types of activities that LSU fans enjoy, such as tailgating and grilling out. The panel will be made up of these fans and they will determine the winning style that we’ll brew.”

If you are 21 or older and would like to participate in the tasting panel and help Tin Roof choose which beer to brew, you must apply on the survey page through www.TinRoofBeer.com and be available either June 14 or June 18.

They will accept tasting panel applications starting May 27 until June 8; the limited number of chosen applicants will be notified on June 10th.

Tin Roof also plans to work with LSU by offering internships to students from Food Sciences to work and learn in the brewery and the Manship School of Mass Communication, specifically focusing on Public Relations and Social Media.

“This will be an incredible opportunity for students to be on the ground floor of executing a full brand campaign for an officially licensed product of their university,” said Rivers Hughey, Director of Marketing and Special Events.

“The founders of Tin Roof have shown a great entrepreneurial spirit and this licensing agreement provides an avenue for LSU to be more entrepreneurial as well,” said Charles D’Agostino, executive director of LSU Innovation Park. “We pursued this type of opportunity a few years ago and it didn’t work out at the time, but in today’s economic climate, it was a great partnership to revisit and see go to market.”
