Starr Hill to Release Hopfetti Triple IPA

16th-Anniversary-Hopfetti

Charlottesville, VA — Starr Hill Brewery is celebrating its sixteenth anniversary this September with the release of several rare beers, including the brand new Hopfetti Triple IPA, as well as a number of special events at the Tap Room in Crozet, Virginia.

As the second oldest craft brewery in Virginia, Starr Hill’s sixteen years in operation has seen the brewery make incredible strides that helped lay the groundwork for the growing craft beer industry and community throughout Virginia.

“We are incredibly proud of how the brewery has continued to grow and adapt since 1999,” said Brian McNelis, Starr Hill’s President and CEO. “This entire month of celebration is dedicated to our team and fans of craft beer in the community who helped us get where we are today.”

Hopfetti Triple IPA is a special recipe from Brewmaster Robbie O’Cain to mark the occasion of the brewery’s sixteenth birthday. A proclamation of Starr Hill’s love for IPAs, this bold brew is double dry-hopped and features six different varieties, including Amarillo, Apollo, Centennial, Equinox, Sorachi Ace and Triskel. IPAs are best enjoyed fresh, hence why Hopfetti comes with a recommendation to “Enjoy by October 31, 2015.”

Hopfetti will be released on draft in the Starr Hill Brewery Tap Room on Saturday, September 5th alongside birthday cupcakes from Charlottesville’s Sweethaus. This small batch of Hopfetti will be released in a limited number of bottles later in the month, with a few saved for Starr Hill’s Oktoberfest event on October 10th.

The following week, fall seasonal Boxcarr Pumpkin Porter and Debut #5 Maple Brown Ale will become available on tap. Crozet neighbors, Chiles Peach Orchard, will be on hand with apples, cider and donuts to ring in the autumn harvest season.

On Saturday, September 19th, Starr Hill will release 22oz. bottles of Live Sessions Shakedown Imperial Chocolate Cherry Stout aged in Smooth Ambler bourbon barrels. Some of those whiskey barrels will be raffled off during the event to a few lucky winners.

The month of celebrations will wrap up with the release of several King of Hop flavor variations, including Grapefruit and Habanero versions of the award-winning Imperial IPA. Exclusive tastings will be available on September 26th in the Starr Hill Brewery Tap Room and at Top of the Hops Charlottesville Beer Fest.
