Speakers Announced for NBWA’s 75th Annual Convention

ALEXANDRIA, VA — The National Beer Wholesalers Association’s (NBWA) 75th Annual Convention will be taking place October 14-17 at the Manchester Grand Hyatt San Diego in San Diego, California. The General Session will feature an outstanding lineup of speakers including keynote speeches by General Stanley McChrystal, former Commander of U.S. and International Forces in Afghanistan, and leading pollster and public policy expert Peter Hart.

Called “one of America’s greatest warriors” by Secretary of Defense Robert Gates, General McChrystal is widely praised for creating a revolution in warfare that fused intelligence and operations. He is also known for developing and implementing the counter-insurgency strategy in Afghanistan and for creating a comprehensive counter-terrorism organization that revolutionized the way military agencies interact and operate. The four-star general is the former commander of U.S. and international forces in Afghanistan and the former leader of Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), which oversees the military’s most sensitive forces. His leadership of JSOC is credited with the 2003 capture of Saddam Hussein and the 2006 location and killing of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, the leader of al-Qaeda in Iraq. General McChrystal, who is known for his candor and innovative leadership, will share stories from his exciting career and provide insights on leadership, teamwork and strategic thinking.

Peter Hart is regarded as one of the top analysts of public opinion in the United States and a leading shaper of national trends and political messages. His work with Peter D. Hart Research Associates has been key in determining the future for some of the most influential corporations and politicians in the country, with clients such as IBM, Coca-Cola, Tiffany & Co. and more than 40 U.S. senators and 30 governors. He has been a pollster for NBC News and The Wall Street Journal since 1989 and appears frequently on Meet the Press, The Today Show and The News Hour with Jim Lehrer. Just a few weeks before the 2012 elections, he will provide Convention attendees with his unique perspective on what to expect on Election Day.
