Atlanta, GA — Atlanta-based Second Self Beer Company’s seasonal JunIPA and Devil’s Molé beers are launching in cans for the first time. Both beers will be available in restaurants, bars, and shops around Georgia in mid-November, and are currently on tap at Second Self’s brewery in Atlanta’s Westside neighborhood (1317 Logan Circle NW).

JUNIPA — An IPA inspired by gin (6.4% ABV, 43 IBU). It’s brewed with citrusy Amarillo & Cascade hops, plus juniper berries, then dry-hopped with juniper and rosemary. This beer also received an outstanding score of 91 on Beer Advocate!

Suggested parings include: braised short ribs, herb chicken, roasted brussels sprouts, sharp cheese, fire pits, & roasted marshmallows.

DEVIL’S MOLÉ — A delicious variant on Molé Porter, Second Self has added twice the chiles, & for extra heat, they don’t de-seed them. The recipe for the chocolate porter is inspired by cofounder Jason Santamaria’s family recipe for Oaxacan Christmas mole sauce. It’s brewed with California, Pasella, and Chipotle chiles with cinnamon, cloves, and cocoa nibs.

Suggested pairings include: roasted turkey, fish, steak au poivre, fresh goat cheese & rustic provincial cuisine.

About Second Self Beer Company
Co-Founders Jason Santamaria and Chris Doyle started Second Self as a home brewing experiment a decade ago, and released their highly acclaimed beers to the public in fall 2014. The two met in college at Georgia Tech and bonded over a shared passion for good beer. Chris went on to work at Atlanta’s Sweetwater Brewery and earned his certificate from the American Brewers Guild Craft Brewers Apprenticeship program. Jason has a background in food and business. Second Self’s beers are brewed with fresh ingredients like blue ginger and lemongrass (never dried ingredients or extracts), and each brew is designed to be paired with food. Second Self recently opened an expanded taproom at their Westside brewery.
