Press Clips: The Best Beer Bars; Two New Nashville Breweries; Beer Shipments Down; Flying Dog’s Viral Video

Draft Magazine compiled their annual list of the 100 best beer bars in the U.S. The list is broken down into four regions: The West, Midwest, Northeast and South. Also, Draft Mag took the time to denote which new bars made the list.

The Tennessean is reporting that two new breweries are set to sprout up in East Nashville. Fat Bottom Brewing Co. and Broadcast Brewing will be taking over a former mattress factory and plan to open in May.

The Los Angeles Times reports that worldwide beer shipments were down 2.9 million barrels (1.4%) from 2010. Beer Marketers Insights, the trade publication who originally published the data in their latest newsletter, also notes that Pabst Brewing Co.’s shipments were up 0.4%, the first since 1999. Yuengling and Boston Beer Co. both saw increases of 16.9% and 8% respectively.

The Milwaukee Business Journal reports that Lakefront Brewery produced 23,576 barrels in 2011, up from 17,641 the year prior. Lakefront produces the popular gluten-free beer New Grist.
