Narragansett Beer Announces ‘Neighbor Day’ Celebration Series

GansettPROVIDENCE, RI – Narragansett Beer, known for their famous slogan “Hi Neighbor, Have a ‘Gansett,” has announced the kickoff of a month-long celebration leading up to Neighbor Day. The event series will include a goodwill tour bringing together fans and friends of ‘Gansett at more than 50 bars and restaurants throughout the region, a blowout block party in Providence, Rhode Island, and promotional events at New England package stores.

Narragansett was inspired by their 120 year tradition of neighborliness and sought to bring Neighbor Day to New England. Celebrated in numerous ways throughout the country, the holiday encourages neighbors to recognize one another through simple acts like lending a hand with groceries or yard work, or raising a toast over a barbeque. Since Narragansett’s founding, it has upheld a commitment to community and goodwill from hosting city-wide festivals at their Cranston, RI brewery or surprising patrons at local watering holes with free rounds of ‘Gansett.

Beginning on August 30th 2011, Narragansett Beer will continue this legacy and embark on a goodwill tour leading up to Neighbor Day, making stops at some of New England’s favorite bars and restaurants. Each neighborhood tour date will feature visits to multiple locations where the ‘Gansett team will be joined by brand mascots Clammy & Tallboy and the famous ‘Gansett Girls. Each bar stop will feature games, giveaways, and goodwill (rounds of beer on the ‘Gansett team). In addition, the ‘Gansett team will be making stops at package stores around New England throughout September giving away “Hi Neighbor” 16oz can coozies.
