Midland Brewing Company Sets Grand Opening for Restaurant

Midland Brewing Company restaurant prepares for February 9 grand opening

Midland, MI – Midland Brewing Company (MBC) is bringing a new dining experience to the Midland area on Thursday, Feb. 9. with the opening of its highly anticipated restaurant. Sharing the brewery’s location at 5011 N. Saginaw Rd., the restaurant will feature a selection of fresh, creative menu options designed to pair well with the brewery’s wide range of craft beers.

“We want the food to be as interesting and creative as our beers,” said Dave Kepler, Chairman of Midland Brewing Company. “With so many chain restaurants in the city, we see an opportunity to fill a niche as a local establishment serving fun, inventive food in a rustic-chic atmosphere. We hope to become the top choice for hungry locals as well as a destination for food and beer lovers across the Great Lakes Bay Region.

Boasting creative takes on pub favorites, the menu takes advantage of locally sourced ingredients and features classics such as sausages, burgers, and soft-baked pretzels, as well as nightly entrees and more eclectic fare like the Beeramisu dessert.

“Our menu is a fresh, contemporary twist on casual dining,” said Mark Miracle, MBC’s kitchen manager. “We are working hard to match the quality and variety of our food with the tremendous flavors and craftsmanship of our beers.”

With seating for more than 100 people, the restaurant’s hours will be Monday-Thursday, 11 a.m.-10 p.m.; Friday and Saturday, 11 a.m.-midnight; and Sunday, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Working with partner Kosch Dining Solutions, a Rochester-based food service management company, the restaurant is the first step in MBC’s expansion. Later this spring, a beer garden and outdoor event space connected to the Pere Marquette rail trail will open. When complete, the entire facility will seat about 200 and will be ideal for everything from dining out to casual meetings, corporate parties, and special events.

Midland Brewing Company was originally founded in 1935, just after the end of Prohibition, and operated for only a few years before closing its doors. It was reborn in 2010, 75 years after its founding, by a group of local entrepreneurs and brewers with a passion for both craft beer and Midland’s early history. The company maintains a brewery and restaurant on Saginaw Road in Midland, just off the Pere Marquette Rail Trail; its beers can be found in bars, restaurants, and retail locations throughout Michigan.
