Kihei, Hawaii — While not a new beer to some, Maui Brewing Company will release Haleakala Sunryes IPA in cans for a limited time to coincide with the park’s Centennial Anniversary. This medium-bodied India Pale Ale has a deep dark copper appearance, while the rye adds an earthy and spicy character complementing the bitterness of the hops.

“You’ll love this IPA! Brewed with Rye to add subtle spice character, and named after the volcano here on Maui meaning ‘House of the Sun'”, said MBC founder, Garrett Marrero, “I’ll be looking forward to raising these cans to Haleakala!”

Haleakala Sunryes IPA, with its 5.7% ABV and 78 IBUs, will be available in the Kihei Tasting Room and the Lahaina Brewpub beginning September 30th. It will be available in 6-pack cans and draft in all markets where Maui Brewing Company craft beer can be found.

Maui Brewing Company is on pace to brew 45,000 barrels in 2016. The expansion will allow MBC to evolve into a craft beverage company with plans to distill spirits as well as produce craft sodas, ciders, and meads.

MBC is a fiercely local company and has remained steadfast regarding local production. The MBC team are stewards of their communities and the ‘aina, and curators of the craft beer way of life. Their beers have been recognized worldwide for quality and innovation.
