Anaheim, Calif. – Legend Beverage, Inc. (“Legends Craft Brewery”) announced today that the company is in collaboration with local hockey superstar Ryan Getzlaf in order to produce a premium, craft beer for distribution in the Southern California market.
Legends Craft Brewery and Getzlaf have agreed to collaborate in the production of a premium beer that will benefit the Newort Beach-based charity, CureDuchenne [www.cureduchenne.org], which as the name suggests, seeks to cure Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Both Legends and Getzlaf have agreed to donate a significant portion of the gross proceeds of all sales in order to help find a cure for this disease that strikes young boys.
“We are grateful that Ryan Getzlaf and Legends Craft Brewery are partnering in a venture that will support CureDuchenne’s effort to find a cure for Duchenne muscular dystrophy,” said Debra Miller, founder and CEO of CureDuchenne. “As a mom with a son with Duchenne, we appreciate all champions who join our mission to save the lives of all those with Duchenne. Both Ryan and Legends have been ongoing supporters.”
As part of the collaboration process, The Getzlaf’s have spent time at the brewery working with the Legends team in order to create the perfect recipe. “Paige and I are so excited to be teaming up with Legends and creating a beer we love and know others will love as well. We are thrilled that a percentage of all money made on this beer will go to CureDuchenne. We look forward to being hands on through out this whole process and can’t wait to enjoy the final product” said Ryan Getzlaf, team captain for the Ducks.
Legends has been an active supporter of CureDuchenne for the past three years via their involvement with the “Getzlaf Golf Shootout” held at the Monarch Beach Golf Links [This year’s event taking place on September 10&11/2016]. “I am honored and blessed to have been able to assist Ryan, Paige and the Miller’s over the past few years, but I am extremely excited to take our support to the next level by collaborating with the Getzlaf’s on an outstanding beer that we’re confident will really help the charity by raising both money and awareness!” said Jay Talley, President and Founder of Legends Craft Brewery.
Legends opening adds to the growing list of Anaheim-based breweries making that city a destination for Southern California craft beer enthusiasts. “By bringing people together over a great craft beer and a worthy cause, this collaboration speaks to what Anaheim’s Brew City initiative is all about,” Anaheim Mayor Tom Tait said. “And what a thrill to have one of the greatest names in Anaheim Ducks hockey behind this.
