PAWTUCKET, R.I. – Craft beer cooperative Isle Brewers Guild (IBG) announced today it has hired key members of its brewing team to lead operations at the company’s 100-barrel brewery, opening in Pawtucket in early 2017.

The new leadership team will work with IBG’s brewing partners to collaborate on the development and delivery of their craft portfolio. To date, IBG has announced partnerships with Narragansett Brewing Company and Newburyport Brewing Company. IBG expects to announce additional brewing partners in January.

“We are thrilled to welcome this group of established, creative and talented brewers to IBG’s growing team,” said Devin Kelly, co-founder and Managing Partner, Isle Brewers Guild. “Jack, Ken, Jodi and Jael each bring unique skill sets to our business, and their endless dedication to their craft will help us serve our brewing partners – and, in turn, beer lovers in Rhode Island and beyond – at the highest level.”

Jack Streich has been named partner & Vice President of Brewing Operations. Streich has 25 years of manufacturing experience, 16 of which have been in various roles within the brewing industry. Streich earned his certification in Brewing Science and Technology from the Siebel Institute of Technology in Chicago. He was also head brewer at Commonwealth Brewing Company as well as a consultant brewmaster at a dozen start-up breweries in New England and the NY/NJ area. Most recently, Streich served as operations manager at Bradford Soap Works in West Warwick.

In his new role, Streich will be primarily responsible for overseeing all brewing and packaging operations.

Jodi Andrews was named Cellar and Quality Control Supervisor. Andrews has more than 20 years of brewing experience, most recently serving as the Head Brewer for Jersey Girl Brewing Company, a 30-barrel startup launched in Hackettstown, N.J. Prior to that, Andrews was a brewer at Karbach Brewing Company in Houston; Stoudt’s Brewing Company in Adamstown, Penn.; and Boston Beer Works in Boston. Andrews has been a committee member with the Brewers Association of America since 1995.

In her role at IBG, Andrews will manage the brewery’s cellar and aging operations. She will also serve as the facility’s quality control lead.

Jael Cordero will serve as Packaging Supervisor. Cordero comes to IBG from Stony Creek Brewery in Branford, Connecticut where he was the Lead Packaging Operator and Technical Engineer since the brewery opened in 2015. He will lead the brewery’s canning and keg lines.

Ken Hermann, most recently a senior brewer at Harpoon Brewery in Boston, has been named Brewing Supervisor. Hermann completed his Craft Brewers Apprenticeship Program at the prestigious American Brewers Guild Brewing School and began his brewing career at Newport Storm in Rhode Island.

Hermann’s primary responsibilities with IBG will include recipe formulation, collaboration with brewing partners and day-to-day brewing operations.

“Our goal was to bring in talented individuals to assist our brewing partners as they scale up,” said Jeremy Duffy, co-founder and Managing Partner, “and we absolutely accomplished that with this group.”
