Allentown, PA – Beginning on January 16th, the first two craft beer offerings by HiJinx Brewing Company will be available in cans through distributors, taverns and grocery stores throughout the Lehigh Valley, as well as at the brewery in south Allentown. HiJinx Brewing Company will be canning its “Wicked White” and “Hop Havoc” throughout the next year to increase availability of the beers to both long-time HiJinx fans, as well as newcomers to the brewery’s finely crafted beers.
“Offering HiJinx beers in cans allows us to make our products available to a much larger audience,” said Chief Executive Officer Curt Keck. “We are excited to be able to begin offering our beverages to craft beer lovers beyond the borders of Pennsylvania soon.”
HiJinx cans will be available in 12-packs at beer distributors and in 6-packs and singles at regional taverns, bottle shops, and grocery stores. HiJinx will also offer six-packs of these two beers at their tasting room. Availability of the canned beers will debut in select distributors and drinking establishments in the Lehigh Valley, with plans to increase distribution throughout all of Pennsylvania and surrounding states over the course of 2016.
The first two beers to be released will be Wicked White Belgian Style Witbier (5% ABV), and Hop Havoc India Pale Ale (8% ABV). Wicked White is a refreshingly satisfying Belgian style witbier brewed with orange peel and coriander. Hop Havoc is a hoppy American “IPA” with notes of Grapefruit, Stone fruits, and melon.
Founders Curt Keck and Chris Becker launched the company in Keck’s 400 square foot garage after he shared a batch of homebrewed beer with several friends one evening. One of the group suggested that he open up a brewery to share the product of his passion with the masses. After some coaxing, Curt agreed saying that the brewery needed a name that spoke to the hijinx that took place in the garage. With a simultaneous “Eureka!” expression on the faces of everyone present, HiJinx Brewing Company was born.
After two years of brewing in the garage and gaining some local notoriety for their beers, Keck and Becker made the decision to expand and share their beers with a larger audience. In 2014, HiJinx Brewing Company moved into the Bridgeworks Enterprise Center, a small business incubator in south Allentown, where it is currently located. The 4,000 square foot facility is home to the company’s 10-barrel brewing operation and features a tasting room that allows the craft beer lover to sample the full offering of delicious HiJinx beers.
