BALTIMORE, MD — Heavy Seas Beer recently announced a number of lineup changes for 2016, including the year-round availability of Double Cannon as well as the return of Deep Six and Siren Noire.

Additional information and updates are included below.

Double Cannon Now Available Year Round

Heavy Seas Beer is pleased to announce that Double Cannon, originally a new seasonal release in 2015, will transition to a year-round offering in its 2016 portfolio. This Double IPA will be available in all 18 states where Heavy Seas beer is distributed.

Hop aromas blast out of this flavor explosion. Massively dry-hopped, but with a balanced malt sweetness, this irresistible force showcases the power of bringing in the extra artillery. Hop cubed…then squared, Double Cannon is hopped to the sixth! We’ve kept the same malt recipe proportions as Loose Cannon and employed the late addition-, whirlpool-, hopback-, and dry-hopping processes that make Loose Cannon such a flavorful IPA. We’ve captured the beautiful balance of Loose Cannon, but doubled the firepower.

The Return of Deep Six

Heavy Seas Beer is pleased to announce the return of its first seasonal beer in 2016, Deep Six. This English-style porter will be available from January – March in all 18 states where Heavy Seas beer is distributed.

Rich, malty, and complex with a surprisingly dry finish, this robust English-style porter is never cloying and wonderfully drinkable. A dense tan head portends the chocolate, roasty, brownie batter flavor. Maris Otter malt, imported from the UK, imparts a deep nuttiness accentuated by a unique English yeast strain. This cheeky yeast generates subtle pear, apple and strawberry esters that gently contribute to its depth of flavor.

Deep Six’s complex balance also comes from imported UK Target and Fuggle hops, contributing earthy, herbaceous, tea-like notes. The result is a hefty brew that walks the fine line between eminent drinkability and overwhelming flavor impact.

The Return of Siren Noire

The “Uncharted Waters” Series by Heavy Seas Beer will soon welcome the 2016 edition of Siren Noire. This limited release will be available from January – February in all 18 states where Heavy Seas beer is distributed.

Siren Noire is a velvety, rich chocolate stout. Almost three pounds of Belgian coco nibs are used per barrel. It’s aged for five weeks in bourbon barrels with vanilla beans added. A mix of dark malts gives Siren Noire a well-rounded body that is decidedly chocolatey—but without being extraordinarily sweet or cloying. Brewers Gold hops contribute an earthy spiciness, with notes of black current.
