Gritty McDuff’s and Shipyard Brewing Companies to Sponsor the Biggest Concert of the Summer in Portland, Maine

PORTLAND, ME — Gritty McDuff’s and Shipyard Brewing Company are the official beer sponsors of the Mumford & Sons Gentlemen of the Road Stopover in Portland, Maine on the Eastern Promenade. This August 4th Portland event is the first U.S. Stopover of just four hand selected cities nationwide and is expected to draw 16,000 people. The Stopover tours are known for celebrating the best of local culture and Gritty’s and Shipyard are two of Portland’s oldest and most iconic breweries.

Gritty’s and Shipyard beers will be served in a beer garden throughout the event and will also be featured during premiere celebrations all weekend throughout the city, including pre- and after-parties at the State Theatre.

This Stopover features music from Mumford & Sons, St. Vincent, Dawes, The Maccabees, The Apache Relay, Simone Felice, Haim and will be emceed by comedian Reggie Watts. Gritty’s and Shipyard are also sponsoring events leading up to the concert where fans will have the chance to win tickets to this sold out show. A total of 10 pair of tickets will be awarded to fans over a 10 day period.

The Gentleman, who can be recognized by his dapper appearance, top hat and handlebar mustache, will be at the following retail locations from 5 — 6 p.m. Fans can follow the Facebook page www.facebook.com/findtheGOTR to discover the secret word that must be whispered into his ear in order to win two tickets to the concert. The secret word and the number fan a person needs to be to whisper the word to The Gentleman will be posted daily on that Facebook page.
