maceo green man

Asheville, NC — Asheville Beer Week just got funky! On Sunday May 24th, Green Man Brewery will release Maceo, an Imperial Sour Brown Ale with Oregon Cherries, aged in Rum Barrels. The bottles will go on sale at 2 pm in the taproom at 23 Buxton Ave in Asheville, NC. This is a very limited release so arriving early is advised. This beer has a score of 96 on Rate Beer and has been called by the beer columnist of the Asheville Citizen Times, Tony Kiss, one of the best beers to come out of Western North Carolina.

Throughout the day, several rare and limited barrel-aged sour ales will be featured on tap as well. There will be complementary local cheese table to pair with the special sour ales. Hank West from the band Hank West and the Smokin’ Hots will be playing some funky sax music out on the patio.

The Maceo release is an official event for Asheville Beer Week and is a destination for folks far and wide. Our other Asheville Beer Week events include a beer dinner with Green Man and Whole Foods at Tunnel Road Taphaus on May 26 at 7 pm featuring 5 courses paired with 5 Green Man beers. On May 28, we will release a rare one-off at the tasting room, Blueberry Sour Brown Ale. Asheville Beer Week is a festive beer-centric time to visit Asheville with many events to choose from every day of the week. http://avlbeerweek.com/
