Central Islip, N.Y. — The Long Island Ducks today announced that the Atlantic League club is teaming up with local brewer, Great South Bay Brewery, to produce a private label craft brew dubbed “Duck Tail Ale”. The beer will be produced in Bay Shore at Great South Bay Brewery, delivered to Bethpage Ballpark by Long Island’s Clare Rose Distributors, Inc., and served cold to thirsty Ducks fans of age all season long.

“We’re excited to launch this new offering,” said Ducks President/GM Michael Pfaff. “Fans are truly going to enjoy this easy drinking beer, crafted locally, in honor of their hometown team.”

Duck Tail Ale is an American Style Golden Ale that delivers a clean, crisp thirst-quenching experience with every sip. It is a full-flavored light beer with 4.8% ABV. Pilsner and Crystal Malts are mashed using traditional brewing techniques lending its light golden color. The Brew is finished using Hallertau Hops to provide the right amount of bitterness for balance.

Duck Tail Ale is proudly brewed locally at Great South Bay Brewery (“GSB”) in Bay Shore, New York, just a few short miles from Bethpage Ballpark. GSB is one of the largest fully functioning Breweries on Long Island. GSB has been serving exceptional beers since 2010, winning three Gold Medals and one Bronze Medal at the Great American Beer Festival. GSB has been rated the Best Brewery in New York State by Foursquare in 2016.

“We are extremely excited about the opportunity to partner with the Ducks, our very own hometown baseball team,” said Rick Sobotka, Founder of Great South Bay Brewery. “We look forward to spending a sunny afternoon with our families enjoying a Duck Tail Ale and watching the game.”

The 2017 Ducks home opener is Friday, April 28 at 6:35 pm vs. the New Britain Bees.

The Long Island Ducks are members of the Atlantic League of Professional Baseball and play their home games at Bethpage Ballpark. For further information, call (631) 940-DUCK or visit www.liducks.com.
