Frederick, MD – With sales at an all time high, the craft beer market has undoubtedly become increasingly competitive. And with everyone and their mother coming out with “the best” craft beer in town, it’s easy to get overwhelmed with options.

For the last 25 years, however, one brewery has remained fiercely independent and unwavering in its commitment to innovative, high quality craft beer is Flying Dog Brewery.

“There is a reason people love our beer,” says Flying Dog CEO Jim Caruso. “We go to great lengths to ensure that every beer we brew continues to help elevate the entire craft beer industry. From a commitment to craft beer education with our Flying Dog University program to our exclusive Brewhouse Rarities series, the team at Flying Dog crafts what we believe to be the most innovative beer in the market.”

2016 marks the 25th anniversary for Flying Dog Brewery, which has become one of the fastest-growing regional craft breweries in the country. In the past five years alone, sales for the Maryland-based brewery have grown 600 percent in its core market of the mid-Atlantic. And with plans underway for a new facility seven times the size of its current brewery, new great beers will keep pouring out.

“I started brewing when I was 17, and not just to have beer to drink with my friends,” Flying Dog Brewmaster Matt Brophy said. “I heard Charlie Papazian, the godfather of homebrewing, interviewed on my local NPR affiliate and immediately became enthralled with the craft. From that point on, I knew exactly what I would do for the rest of my life.”

Tropical Bitch

To commemorate this milestone anniversary, Brophy and his team of brewers developed Tropical Bitch, a spin on Flying Dog’s wildly popular Raging Bitch Belgian-Style IPA, which was released for its 20th anniversary. Tropical Bitch was brewed with pineapple, passion fruit and mango and is now available in all markets where Flying Dog is sold until the end of March.

Flying Dog will be also hosting a series of intimate events in New York with Caruso and Brophy this March to celebrate Flying Dog’s 25th anniversary. Both will be available for interviews and expert commentary on Flying Dog’s storied heritage and what goes into producing world-class craft beer.
