Flying Dog Introduces 4 New Cookie-Inspired Beers

Flying Dog Brewery Otterbein 12-Pack

FREDERICK, Md. — What could be better than having beer with your cookies this holiday season? We say NOTHING! That’s why Flying Dog, Maryland’s largest brewery, is teaming up for the second year in a row with Baltimore-based Otterbein’s Bakery on four new cookie-inspired craft beers that will be released in a limited edition holiday 12-pack.

The Flying Dog Holiday Collection will include:

  • Fig & Fennel Stout, to pair with Otterbein’s Oatmeal Raisin Cookies
  • Citrus Saison, to pair with Otterbein’s Sugar Cookies
  • Cranberry IPA, to pair with Otterbein’s Lemon Sugar Cookies
  • Belgian Style Pale Ale, to pair with Otterbein’s Orange White Chocolate Chip Cookies

“The success of last year’s partnership with Otterbein’s generations of bakers inspired us to develop four new beers for this year’s Collection,” Flying Dog Brewmaster Matt Brophy said. “To pair our brewing creativity with Otterbein’s recipes that have been passed on from generation to generation is pretty unique.”

Otterbein’s Bakery was also inspired by the collaboration and is releasing the first new cookie in decades with The Holiday Collection: An orange white chocolate chip cookie that will be available exclusively in the bakery’s own Holiday Collection package of all four pairing cookies.

The four beers, alongside their cookie counterparts, will premiere on tap in the Flying Dog taproom on Thursday, November 5, 2015. Tickets for the beer and cookie pairing are $25 and available through Flying Dog’s website.

From there, The Holiday Collection – alongside each cookie in select stores – will be available on shelves and on draft from the beginning of November through the end of December in Maryland, Washington, D.C., and Northern Virginia.
