Florida Beer Releases Swamp Ape Black Double IPA

Cape Canaveral, Florida — Florida Beer Company has announced the release of Swamp Ape Black Double IPA, the second in a series of “Friends of Swamp Ape”.  In the fall of 2014 Florida Beer Company introduced the “Friends of Swamp Ape” extension to their popular Swamp Ape beer by releasing an insanely smoked Double IPA.  A true smoked forward version of Swamp Ape.

Next up in the Friends lineup is “Swamp Ape Black Double IPA”.  This is the most extreme IPA the company has released to date.  Black Swamp Ape is a huge beer weighing in at 10% ABV and is comprised of 7 different malts; Caramel Munich 120, Dark Munich, Crystal 85, Chocolate Malted Barley, Black Malted Barley, Black Wheat and Flaked Barley – each lend a layer of complexity to this double IPA.  The beer has a nice light roasted character with hints of chocolate, coffee and dark malt.  It’s deep midnight black color is totally opaque.

This black double IPA has over 3 pounds of hops in every keg to give it a huge balanced bitterness with citrus, pine, lemon zest, spice, resin and floral aromas.  The hops include, Columbus, Cascade, Centennial, Amarillo & Chinook.

Swamp Ape Black Double IPA is a short run limited release production.  When it’s gone it’s gone until next year. It is available at fine craft beer establishments and limited quantity at the Tap Room.

This monstrous double IPA is like no other IPA you’ve had before.
