Flat12 Bierwerks to Release Summer Seasonal Cucumber Kölsch

INDIANAPOLIS — Flat12 Bierwerks is excited to announce the release of their ultimate summer favorite, Cucumber Kölsch, now available in 6-packs of 12oz cans. Starting the beginning of June, the cucumber-infused, Kölsch-style German ale will be available at the Indianapolis taproom, the Jeffersonville taproom as well as bars and package stores all around Indiana and the greater Louisville area. Cucumber Kölsch is also hitting the market with a fresh new look. The unique, hand-illustrated can design was created by Vision Concepts, the same agency responsible for Flat12’s recent rebranding.

Flat12 kicked off their new can line two years ago and currently offer Half Cycle IPA, Upside Down Blonde, and Hinchtown Hammerdown in 4-packs of 16oz cans, but with the return of Cucumber Kölsch, this is the first time in Flat12 history they are introducing 6-packs of 12oz cans into the market.

“People know us for our hopped up varieties and barrel-aged beers, but with the popularity of our IndyCar collaboration beer, Hinchtown Hammerdown, and the excitement around the return of Cucumber Kölsch, our summertime beers are right up there with our signature brews. As the weather gets warmer and people want to throw a 6-pack in the cooler and head out to the park or the lake, we are excited to have our summertime favorites like Hinchtown Hammerdown, Upside Down Blonde, and now, Cucumber Kölsch in such a convenient package. We can’t wait to see where our customers take Flat12 this summer,” said President, Sean O’Connor.

Offering 5.2% ABV and just 28 IBUs, Flat12’s summer seasonal begins with lager qualities owed to pilsner malt and cold fermentation. It pours a deep gold color with smooth drinkability and a super-refreshing finish from an infusion of cucumber. It’s the perfect accompaniment to a hot summer day. You’ll stay cool as a cucumber with this Kölsch.

Cucumber Kölsch, will be available through June and early July, and will be followed by a mid-July Pinko Russian Imperial Stout release, Flat Jack Pumpkin Ale in August, and a new fall seasonal to be announced closer to its September release date. Flat12 can be found on shelves and on draft throughout Indiana and Louisville, as well as at their Indianapolis brewery and Jeffersonville, Indiana taproom. Flat12’s seasonal release joins the brewery’s four year-round beers – Half Cycle IPA, available in 16oz cans, 12oz bottles, draft – Upside Down Blonde, available in 16oz cans, 12oz bottles, draft – Walkabout Pale Ale, available in 12oz bottles, draft – Pogue’s Run Porter, available in 12oz bottles, draft.

About Flat12 Bierwerks

Flat12 Bierwerks is a production craft brewery formed in 2010, located in the fast-growing Holy Cross neighborhood— just east of downtown Indianapolis. As a company, we embrace a laid-back, “work hard, play hard” mentality, fostering the creativity of each individual, and that’s no better exemplified than in our brewery. We like to think we strike a good balance between having consistent core and seasonal beers, while continually adding a variety of innovative specialty beers to the lineup. We don’t have a lot of allegiance to traditional styles, we brew what we like— and we like to make “ish-styles.”

Brewmaster, Sean Manahan, and his team brew for the pursuit of creative expression in a pint. There’s a lot of innovation, youth and passion in our brewery. We aren’t just brewing to quench the thirst, we brew to offer an experience. With their combined experience, thirst for innovation, and a passion for brewing, our liquid artists aim to help define the next generation of craft beer. As a team we continue the legacy of our namesake— a classic game-changing racing engine— and move towards a more revved up beer.
